Saudi Arabia’s first cruise line, AROYA Cruises, has set its sights on expansion into Northern Europe, the Caribbean and Asia.
Operated by Cruise Saudi, a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company, the cruise line officially expanded into the Mediterranean Sea in June, less than a year after its historic Red Sea debut. Its inaugural Mediterranean voyage set sail from Istanbul on 28 June 2025, signaling a major milestone in the Kingdom’s global tourism ambitions.
“AROYA is more than a ship. It is a floating resort designed to highlight Saudi luxury and world-class hospitality,” said Cruise Saudi. The 19-deck vessel, launched on 16 December 2024 from Jeddah Islamic Port, is equipped with 1,678 cabins and suites, 12 restaurants, and 17 cafés, all reflecting “the spirit of Saudi hospitality.”
The ship’s summer schedule includes six- to seven-night trips to destinations such as Athens, Mykonos, Souda Bay, Bodrum, and Alexandria, offering guests a unique blend of scenic views and cultural experiences. “
“After proving its success in the Red Sea and expanding into the Mediterranean, AROYA has ambitious plans for further growth,” Cruise Saudi said, highlighting Northern Europe, Asia and the Caribbean as on its agenda. “These destinations will widen AROYA’s reach and contribute to the expansion of Saudi Arabia’s cruise industry.”
For premium travellers, the ship features the Khuzama area, with 145 suites and nine private villas, including the largest at 395 square meters. Guests enjoy “private villas, prayer areas, and women-only spa hours,” combining “cultural respect with a truly luxurious travel experience.”
