Ponant Explorations Group is expanding into the world of yachting with the launch of its fourth commercial brand, Ponant Yachting. Alongside this, the Group is adding to its fleet with the order of a new catamaran, the Spirit of Ponant II. Built by Lagoon, a leader in sailing catamarans, the vessel will join the fleet in late 2026 and will be based in French Polynesia.
A New Travel Experience
Ponant first chartered the yacht cruise waters in 2024 with a range of tailor-made sea voyages aboard luxury catamarans. With the success of the Spirit of Ponant, the Group is investing further into this market segment.

The yachting product will be all-inclusive, with rates covering itineraries, personalized activities, bespoke menus, a selection of wines and cocktails, and a variety of nautical activities (such as stand-up paddle boarding, snorkelling, water skiing, wing foiling, Tiwal sailing and Sublue diving).
The vessel will be crewed by a captain, first mate, chef and hostess.
By late 2026, Ponant Yachting will operate a fleet of three catamarans: the Spirit of Ponant, La Désirade and the Spirit of Ponant II, each with a capacity of nine to 12 guests. They will take guests to the Mediterranean, Seychelles, Caribbean and Polynesia.
Spirit of Ponant II

The Spirit of Ponant II is a catamaran in the brand-new Lagoon EIGHTY 2 series, measuring 25 metres long and 11 metres wide. Accommodating up to 10 guests, it has five double staterooms and 427 square meters of living space.
Spirit of Ponant II’s inaugural voyage will take place in late 2026, sailing to Polynesia. Itineraries are tailored to guests’ wishes and adjusted according to the weather conditions at the time of travel.
Ponant Yachting joins Ponant Explorations, Paul Gauguin Cruises and Aqua Expeditions as the brands operated by Ponant Explorations Group.
