‘Stunning upgrades’ are on the cards for Seven Seas Navigator when the vessel retires from sailing for Regent Seven Seas Cruises and is transferred to new owner Crescent Seas, it has been revealed.
Navigator, as it will be known under its new ownership, will go into drydock in November 2026 after sailing a trio of farewell voyages for ultra-luxury cruise line Regent. The extensive renovation will see it transformed into a residential ship, which is expected to return to the seas in December 2026.

Newly appointed ANZ Brand Ambassador for the residential cruise start-up, Jason Gelineau, recently shared insights into the ship’s transformation with LATTE with renders offering a look at what lies in store.
“The Navigator refurbishment has introduced stunning upgrades, including refreshed residences with modern interiors, enhanced wellness spaces, elevated dining experiences and shared working spaces,” he said.
“These improvements align beautifully with Crescent Seas’ focus on luxury living, wellness, and community. It’s all about creating an environment that feels like home, but with the services and amenities of a five-star resort.”
The extensive refurbishment of more than US$50 million will see the 248-suite ship reconfigured to feature 210 residences, ranging from US$750,000 to US$8 million. Amenities will include white-glove butler service for all units and Starlink internet connection to allow for remote work or schooling.
Three design firms are working with Crescent Seas to complete the redevelopment, Lissoni & Partners, Journey and MAWD.

Meanwhile, Gelineau also shared some insights into the newbuild vessel, named The Ocean, set to debut in 2032. “While details are still being refined, I can say that the newbuild will represent the next generation of residential communities at sea,” he said.
“Expect larger, more versatile residences, cutting-edge sustainability features, and thoughtfully curated spaces that enhance both privacy and community living. It’s going to set a new benchmark for life at sea.”
In April, it was confirmed that Oceania Insignia would also join the fleet as as Crescent Seas’ second residential cruise vessel, slated to launch in 2027. A further three vessels are expected in the next five years.
