Following the debut of Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique in April, Hilton executives and local government officials last week celebrated the opening on site.

Taking place at the resort’s Hermosa Ceremonial Pavilion atop the cliffs of Punta Cacique, with views of the Pacific Ocean, the ceremony marked a major milestone in Hilton’s global luxury expansion—particularly across Latin America. Notably, the property became the first in the brand to debut in Costa Rica. It also helped Hilton’s luxury and lifestyle segment surpass 1,000 hotels globally.

In a post on LinkedIn, Chris Nassetta, president and CEO of Hilton, said, “Thank you to everyone who played a role in bringing this stunning resort to life. Here’s to our guests, Team Members and community partners embracing Hilton’s renowned hospitality and the ‘Pura Vida’ lifestyle.”

Also in attendance was Steve Case, chairman and CEO of Revolution; Phillipe Garnier, president and CEO, Garnier & Garnier; and Eduardo Gruener, principal, Cacique Investors. (Managed by Hilton, the resort is owned by Revolution, Cacique Investors and Garnier & Garnier, the project’s Costa Rican developer.)

Waldorf Astoria Costa Rica Punta Cacique is situated along the shores of Playa Penca on Punta Cacique. The 188-room resort offers six regionally inspired dining experiences, amenities including a multi-level pool, dedicated kids and teens clubs, and a 1,580-square-metre spa and fitness centre, plus 930 square metres of meeting space.
