A major expansion of the commercial partnership between Air France-KLM and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) aims to boost connectivity between Scandinavia and the US.

As part of this strategic development, Air France will now add its code to SAS-operated non-stop transatlantic flights, opening up new options for travellers and strengthening transatlantic ties.

“This new codeshare agreement will provide customers with seamless access to a wide range of destinations across the United States via key Scandinavian hubs,” the airlines said in a joint statement.

The expanded codeshare includes several key US cities from major Scandinavian airports:

  • From Copenhagen (CPH) to: Atlanta (ATL), Boston (BOS), Chicago (ORD), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), New York-Newark (EWR), New York-JFK (JFK), San Francisco (SFO), Seattle (SEA), and Washington, D.C. (IAD).
  • From Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) to: New York-Newark (EWR) and Miami (MIA).
  • From Oslo (OSL) to: New York-Newark (EWR) and New York-JFK (JFK).

“This expanded partnership builds upon the success of the commercial cooperation between Air France-KLM and SAS initiated in 2024,” the statement said.

The momentum has been growing steadily. In September, SAS joined SkyTeam, the global airline alliance co-founded by Air France-KLM. Earlier this year, SAS added its code on several long-haul international flights operated by Air France and KLM from their Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam Schiphol hubs.

Customers traveling on these codeshare routes will also benefit from loyalty program perks, earning miles, as well as XP (experience points) toward their Flying Blue status.

SAS flights are also eligible for Flying Blue reward tickets, subject to availability.
