Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has released a preview of its 2028 itineraries, featuring the cruise line’s maiden voyage to Australia’s Kimberley region aboard HANSEATIC spirit.

The 18-day expedition marks an important expansion into new territory for the cruise line’s expedition fleet, offering guests Zodiac adventures on the King George River and at Montgomery Reef, plus the Houtman Abrolhos archipelago.

This first-ever program in Western Australia is part of a broader Spring/Summer 2028 expansion, which includes three new Indonesia routes featuring a discovery of Raja Ampat.

The 2028 collection spans 127 itineraries across Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ now fully bilingual luxury and expedition fleets. Non-binding pre-bookings are now open online, with printed brochures on their way, and full pricing and binding reservations opening in December 2025.

Spring 2028 will also see HANSEATIC inspiration return to the Amazon with two voyages, before heading to North America’s Great Lakes, where Hapag-Lloyd remains the only operator to combine all five lakes on a single cruise. New stops like Cleveland and Alpena, plus expedition days on Lake Superior form part of the program.

In the south, HANSEATIC inspiration and HANSEATIC spirit will remain in Antarctica through February 2028, introducing shorter, 14-day expeditions focused on South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula – ideal for guests seeking “a shorter, high-impact polar experience,” according to Hapag-Lloyd.

Breaking tradition, HANSEATIC nature will winter in warm waters instead of ice, sailing the Indian Ocean with a focus on Madagascar and the Seychelles.

On the luxury side, MS EUROPA and EUROPA 2 will explore regions ranging from Asia to the Caribbean. Highlights include EUROPA 2’s return to Svalbard and the North Cape, and a festive Dubai–Singapore journey through the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Malaysia.

Digital previews are now available, with more details to follow in upcoming brochures.
