St. Louis, Missouri will become British Airways’ 27th US destination with the launch of a new direct route from London Heathrow – the only direct UK link for the American city.

The inaugural flight is scheduled for 19 April 2026, aligning with the 100th anniversary of Route 66, the iconic American highway that passes through St. Louis.

According to British Airways, the new route offers a unique opportunity for travellers to explore the iconic “Mother Road”.

“St. Louis is a fantastic addition to our US network – it’s a destination in itself as a city with a rich history and a vibrant cultural scene, as well as a gateway to exciting destinations beyond this,” Neil Chernoff, British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, commented.

“As the only direct route from the UK, this service will open up exciting new opportunities for our customers and further strengthen ties between the UK and the US Midwest.”

The new service will operate four times per week throughout the summer season, with return fares starting from £529. Customers can choose from three cabins – World Traveller (economy), World Traveller Plus (premium economy), and Club World (business class). Select Club World flights will feature the airline’s latest Club Suite, offering direct aisle access, a full flat bed and a 17” high-resolution screen.

Known for its iconic Gateway Arch, expansive Forest Park, and vibrant food, music and craft beer scenes, St. Louis has long been a cultural hub. It also holds strong appeal for sports fans.

The new route follows British Airways’ recent frequency increases to key US destinations including Miami, San Diego, and Austin. St. Louis will also benefit from the airline’s Atlantic Joint Business partnership with carriers such as American Airlines, Iberia, and Finnair, offering broader connectivity across Europe and North America.
