COMO Hotels and Resorts has officially reopened its flagship Bangkok property this month, unveiling a complete redesign of the COMO Metropolitan Bangkok that promises to add a “vibrant new lure” to the city’s Central Business District.

The reopening represents a significant milestone in the hotel’s 22-year history, blending refined design, wellness, and exceptional cuisine to create a sanctuary in the heart of the Thai capital.

The transformation was led by Italian designer Paola Navone, known for her contemporary and playful design sensibility. Navone, who also designed COMO Point Yamu in Phuket, brings her signature style to all 137 rooms and suites of the Bangkok hotel. Her approach “sensitively balances local materials” like wood, ceramic, and stone, with “a confident, playful contemporaneity” using form and colour.

“With our urban properties, I’ve always wanted to create hotels with spirit which are dynamic and design-forward,” Christina Ong, Founder of COMO Hotels and Resorts, said. “But they also need to be elegant and exceptionally comfortable.”

This duality of urban energy with serene retreat is reflected throughout the hotel. “This reopening is part of a bigger journey,” said COMO CEO Olivier Jolivet. “We now have five urban hotels… all sharing a careful balance of public style and private calm.”

The award-winning restaurant nahm, led by Chef Pim Techamuanvivit, has retained its Michelin star for an eighth consecutive year, serving refined regional Thai cuisine that celebrates the bold contrasts of “sweet, salty, hot and sour.”

For guests seeking lighter fare, the hotel debuts COMO Cuisine in Bangkok, offering all-day dining developed by Culinary Vice President Daniel Moran and Executive Chef Amanda Gale. Menus include healthy options from COMO Shambhala Kitchen, focusing on whole foods and nutrient-rich juices designed with COMO’s in-house nutritionist.

The wellness experience continues at the COMO Shambhala centre, with yoga studios, a hydro pool, and ten treatment rooms designed to restore body and mind.

Looking beyond the hotel, guests can explore the city through new Iconic Experiences, including private shopping tours curated by Club 21 and wine excursions to Monsoon Valley Siam Winery, offering insight into Thai viticulture and new wine pairings at nahm.
