Nobu Hospitality‘s Italian debut, Nobu Hotel and Restaurant Roma, has officially opened with a traditional Sake Ceremony on 6 November attended by its three shareholders – Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper.
Local dignitaries and cultural figures also participated, celebrating the transformation of one of Rome’s most iconic addresses on the historic Via Veneto into “a sanctuary of modern luxury, where Japanese minimalism meets Italian sophistication.”

“We are incredibly proud to introduce Nobu Hotel and Restaurant Roma, a project that beautifully embodies our brand’s philosophy of culinary excellence, design and heartfelt hospitality,” Trevor Horwell, CEO of Nobu Hospitality, said. “Rome’s rich cultural history and timeless elegance make it the perfect setting for our Italian hotel debut.”
Designed by the renowned Rockwell Group, the hotel blends warm Roman textures with Nobu’s signature style, creating a contemporary space.

The hotel features 117 guest rooms and suites, a state-of-the-art wellness and fitness centre and versatile event spaces. Guests can enjoy panoramic city views from the rooftop terrace, which offers small plates, sake, and cocktails, retreat to the lounge, or indulge in 24-hour in-room dining from Nobu Restaurant.
Those dining at Nobu Roma can experience Chef Matsuhisa’s globally celebrated menu in a relaxed yet refined environment, enjoying signature dishes such as Black Cod Miso, Yellowtail Jalapeño, and Rock Shrimp Tempura. Seasonal creations celebrating Italian produce are also featured, and the Sushi Counter offers diners an intimate view of Nobu’s sushi artistry. The bar complements the menu with a selection of fine wines, premium sake, and signature cocktails.
