Oceania Cruises has unveiled a first look at its new Oceania Sonata, “representing the next chapter in the line’s continued evolution of its intimate, luxurious ships.” Set to debut in 2027, the vessel will be the first of four 1,390-guest ships in the new Sonata Class.
Marking the ninth vessel in the Oceania Cruises fleet, Oceania Sonata will embark on its inaugural voyage in August 2027. Notably, according to Oceania, the new vessel will be “the most spacious and amenity-rich to date.” In fact, 30% of all accommodations onboard will be suites. With that, Oceania Sonata will also debut two brand-new suite categories, plus “reimagined” Owner’s Suites.

Good to know: each suite and stateroom will reportedly have a private and spacious veranda.
Guests can look forward to many of the dining venues and public spaces that have become synonymous with Oceania Cruises, including the Grand Dining Room, as well as signature specialty dining venues such as Jacques, the line’s sophisticated French restaurant; pan-Asian Red Ginger; Polo Grill steakhouse; and Toscana, serving Italian specialties. Oceania Sonata, in all, will offer 10 culinary experiences, comprising guest favourites and new concepts.

Additional details on the “exclusive, never-before-featured-at-sea dining venues and experiences” will be revealed in the coming months.
Said Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer for Oceania Cruises: “Each new ship offers an opportunity to reimagine and perfect the travel experience, and as the inaugural vessel of our Sonata Class, Oceania Sonata embodies our vision for the future – one defined by a passion for exquisite cuisine, exceptional service and immersive travel experiences.”

The ship is currently under construction by Fincantieri, the shipbuilder behind Oceania Marina, Riviera, Vista and Allura, which just celebrated its naming ceremony in Miami last week.
Meanwhile, Oceania Cruises’ is offering a digital first preview of the first vessel in the Sonata Class, aptly named Oceania Sonata, showcasing far more tantalising imagery of the luxury vessel, which the video suggests, will go on sale from 21 January 2026. View the video below.
