The ongoing partnership between Regent Seven Seas Cruises and the Australian Ballet continues to deliver for the ultra-luxury cruise line, according to Vice President of Sales & General Manager Asia Pacific Lisa Pile, with strong appeal for its guests.
The multi-year partnership was launched in March 2022.
Speaking to media during an event at the Sydney Opera House, Pile underscored the strength of the partnership and its importance to high-value travellers. “We’re very proud of our partnership with the Australian Ballet,” she said. “We know that our guests, both in Australia and abroad, love the partnership, and the reason we know that is because they tell us so.”

Pile noted that the alignment between the cruise line and the Australian Ballet is built on shared values of quality. She described the collaboration as “fantastic,” emphasising that Regent guests consistently seek out cultural depth and authenticity. This trend is creating new opportunities for cruise passengers to engage with Sydney’s premier performing-arts experiences as part of their pre- and post-cruise itineraries.
International touring is expected to further strengthen these tourism links. Pile highlighted the Ballet’s expanding global footprint under the leadership of US-born Artistic Director David Hallberg. “He’s also taking the Australian Ballet with this next generation further afield,” Pile said. “And this year they have Tokyo, and next year David is actually returning home.”

Such visibility on global stages not only enhances the company’s profile but encourages international visitors to engage with its productions when travelling to Australia.
Meanwhile, Hallberg reinforced the theme of excellence, explaining why the Australian Ballet is such a compelling cultural product for Regent guests in particular. “One word that comes to mind is the word refinement,” he said. He described Sleeping Beauty – the production showcased that evening – as “refinement at its highest, at its most ambitious, at its most demanding.”
