Viking has partnered with the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) to support its highly anticipated exhibition, Olafur Eliasson: Presence.

Commencing on 6 December, the partnership establishes a new alliance between Viking and QAGOMA, one of Australia’s most dynamic cultural institutions. This collaboration creates opportunities to engage new audiences within Australia’s vibrant arts community, while celebrating shared values of creativity, curiosity and thoughtful exploration.

Viking’s focus on offering culturally enriching programs designed for curious travellers who want to learn more about history, art and culture. This aligns with QAGOMA’s commitment to presenting art that broadens perspectives and invites audiences to engage with new ideas.

“Partnering with QAGOMA for this powerful exhibition feels like a natural extension of what we stand for at Viking,” said Michelle Black, ANZ Managing Director, Viking. “Eliasson’s work invites us to look differently at the world — and that sense of curiosity and discovery mirrors the journeys we curate for our guests. We are proud to support an exhibition that encourages people to pause, reflect and experience art in ways that resonate long after they leave the gallery.”

QAGOMA’s Director Chris Saines welcomed the partnership, saying: “We are delighted to partner with Viking on Olafur Eliasson: Presence. Viking’s reputation for culturally rich and thoughtfully curated travel experiences is a natural complement to this exhibition, which encourages visitors to engage more deeply with the world around them. We look forward to sharing this ambitious and captivating project with Viking guests and audiences from across Australia.”

Eliasson’s practice has long been inspired by the natural environments of Iceland and Northern Europe—regions that Viking’s ocean and expedition voyages visit and offer in depth exploration. From the glacial landscapes of Greenland and Iceland to the light-filled waterways of Scandinavia, Viking guests can experience many of the environments that shape the artist’s work.

Exclusive to Brisbane, Olafur Eliasson: Presence encompasses three decades of the artist’s work as it invites visitors to explore light, land and life and to reflect on how we connect with one another and the world around us. The exhibition is now open and runs until 12 July 2026. Tickets are on sale now via QAGOMA.
