Jacada Travel has expanded its Positive Impact Collection with 14 properties, extending its reach into four new regions: Norway, the Seychelles, Argentina and the Maldives.

Launched in 2024, the Positive Impact Collection comprises lodges, camps and hotels that make sustainability and meaningful support of social and environmental issues a core element of their business. To be included in the collection, each property has undergone a meticulous evaluation process, adhering to a rigorous, proprietary methodology. This evaluation is benchmarked against the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Jacada’s own Positive Impact Principles.

Highlights among the new additions include:

  • Åmot in the Norwegian fjords, where guest stays contribute to the fund for historic site restoration and UNESCO-backed youth programs
  • Alphonse Island Lodge in the Seychelles, which contributes directly to the country’s longest-running turtle-monitoring projects and supports the Seychelles’ Marine Spatial Plan, protecting 30% of the nation’s waters
  • Argentina’s Awasi Iguazú, which supports jaguar conservation and partners with the Instituto Esperanza, co-designing work placements for students with additional needs
  • Six Senses Laamu in the Maldives supports the Maldives Underwater Initiative, funding critical marine research and conservation efforts.

Elsewhere in the Positive Impact Collection, there are three new additions in Africa: House in the Wild and Sarara Treehouse, both in Kenya, and Thorntree River Lodge in Zambia. There are four in Latin America: Hotel AWA in Chile, Pousada Literária in Paraty, Brazil and Galápagos Safari Camp and Mashpi Lodge, both in Ecuador. Finally, three more properties in Asia include Zannier Phum Baitang in Cambodia, and Six Senses Côn Đảo and Six Senses Ninh Van Bay, both in Vietnam.

This expansion aligns with a growing shift in traveler preference toward responsible travel. According to Jacada’s 2025 client survey, responsible travel remains a key driver in trip planning, with bookings to newly represented regions rising sharply: Ecuador up 60%, Zambia up 22%, and Vietnam up 26%.

Natalie Lyall-Grant, head of Positive Impact at Jacada, explained: “With data and transparency as the guiding compass of our impact strategy, we teamed up with Hotel Resilient this year to help us measure what matters, improve accountability, and ensure that every property in our Collection drives genuine, verifiable positive impact. As with previous years, properties selected needed to demonstrate outstanding commitment to sustainability and prove meaningful support of social and environmental initiatives. While we recognize that tourism still carries an environmental cost, these properties represent what’s possible when travel is approached through a regenerative lens, creating a positive contribution to the places we visit.”
