Octola II has officially opened, welcoming the first guests from its “carefully managed waitlist” to its secluded estate in the Arctic.

Described as a “landmark moment” for the brand that pioneered clean-air tourism and longevity-focused travel, the launch of Octola II in a private, undisclosed area of Finnish Lapland follows the 2018 opening of the original Octola.

“Octola II is the evolution of our Arctic concept, honed to perfection,” Founder Janne Honkanen said. “Expect everything you love about Octola — and then go beyond your wildest dreams.”

The new Octola II Ultra Lodge spans nearly 800 m² with five ensuite bedrooms, an in-house spa with three distinct saunas, a children’s playroom, a fully-equipped gym, a cigar lounge, two staff rooms, and a dedicated Northern Lights-viewing space. The Supersuite Villa adds two equally large ensuite bedrooms, each with its own sauna, bath, and outdoor hot tub, centered around a glass-framed living area ideal for aurora viewing.

A defining feature of the new resort is its air purity, monitored with “research-grade technology installed on the private estate.” According to the company, guests will breathe “some of the cleanest air measured anywhere on Earth,” with scientific insight showing air “so pure it has been associated with longer life expectancy, improved respiratory recovery, and enhanced wellbeing.”

Surrounded by boreal forests, pristine snowfields and panoramic views of the Arctic horizon, the region offers “near-total silence, uninterrupted serenity, and some of the world’s most spectacular aurora borealis displays — visible over 200 nights a year.” Guests arrive exclusively by private transfer, keeping the retreat completely off-grid.

With the launch of Respiro Octola, guests can also follow “a curated longevity-focused wellness journey grounded in the purity of Arctic air.” The program incorporates “guided breathwork, various sauna experiences, cold-water immersion, and other nature-based treatments inspired by Finnish nature and lifestyle.”
