A new two-fare system for all new Hapag-Lloyd Cruises bookings aims to simplify travel planning and provide greater flexibility for passengers.
The new structure replaces the existing three-tier model with two options: PLATINUM and SILVER.
“Our goal is to make booking decisions easier for guests,” Clas Eckholt, Vice President Commercial at TUI Cruises, said. “With two fares and more flexible options in the PLATINUM fare, guests gain greater clarity and freedom in planning their trips.” Existing bookings will remain unaffected by the change.
The PLATINUM fare is aimed at travelers seeking maximum flexibility. It allows one free rebooking up to 90 days before departure and cancellations up to 180 days in advance for a small fee. Adjusted policies also apply to voyages lasting 22 days or longer and to guests staying in top suite categories. In addition to these new options, PLATINUM guests continue to enjoy benefits such as free choice of cabin or suite and deck, as well as early booking for shore excursions.
For travellers who prefer the standard experience, the SILVER fare maintains the same services currently offered. Cabins and suites are assigned by Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, and shore excursions can be booked 14 days after publication. The scope of included services remains unchanged, ensuring a consistent experience for passengers who select this fare.
Looking ahead, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises will enhance the onboard experience for all guests starting 3 January 2026 with every traveller to enjoy a selection of complimentary soft drinks throughout the day. Both fare types will continue to include signature services such as champagne on arrival, a daily refilled minibar, 24-hour cabin service, gourmet full-board dining, and itinerary-specific experiences like Zodiac excursions.
With this updated fare system, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises aims to make the booking process more transparent while offering tailored options for different traveller preferences. By reducing complexity and increasing flexibility, the cruise line hopes to give passengers greater peace of mind and an improved sense of control over their vacation planning.
