Kempinski breaks ground on new Turks and Caicos hotel

Kempinski Grace Bay is expected to open in 2028

Kempinski Hotels on Monday celebrated the groundbreaking of Kempinski Grace Bay – an exclusive hotel and residential project.

Set on 11 acres of secluded and unspoiled shoreline, the development brings Kempinski’s 128-year legacy of European hospitality to Turks and Caicos for the first time. When it opens, it will become the second active hotel for the company in the Caribbean, following Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski La Habana. (Kempinski also operates Kempinski Hotel Cancún México and previously operated a hotel in Dominica.)

The property’s low-density design calls for 119 private residences and four oceanfront villas, all oriented toward the sea. Interiors draw inspiration from the island’s limestone, timber and glass.

Residents and guests will enjoy an array of signature amenities, including fine dining venues, a beach club, a 3,000-square-foot wine cellar, a European spa, an ocean view fitness area, a sports pavilion with tennis and padel courts, and a children’s club. Sustainability, according to Kempinski, will be woven into every detail – from insulated glass and solar systems to native landscaping nourished by recycled water.

This groundbreaking builds upon the successful partnership between Kempinski Hotels and JTRE, whose international portfolio includes developments across London, Slovakia and Germany.

Construction will continue through 2026, with completion anticipated in 2028.
