In Milan, The Carlton has officially opened, marking the debut of Rocco Forte Hotels‘ 10th Italian address. With 71 suites and rooms, two restaurants, a bar and a spa, the hotel—which LATTE has been keeping tabs on since 2020—refines one of the city’s most prestigious locations.
Designed by architects Philip Vergeylen and Paolo Moschino, the €60 million renovation was carried out under the creative direction of Olga Polizzi, the group’s deputy chair and director of design. With entrances on Via Senato 5 and Via della Spiga 8—the heart of Milan’s Fashion District—the hotel “blends tradition with contemporary design, bold palettes and Art Deco detail.”

The hotel’s gastronomic offering spans three distinct spaces. At Spiga, Chef Fulvio Pierangelini delivers refined simplicity with a menu that shifts with the seasons and celebrates the finest local ingredients. Alternatively, Cafe Floretta brings together botanical-inspired interiors under a domed glass roof; it offers an all-day menu.
Lastly, The Carlton Bar—upon opening in spring 2026—will pay homage to Italy’s aperitivo culture, with signature creations by mixologist Salvatore Calabrese.

At the 3,000-square-foot Irene Forte Spa, “bio-innovation meets ancestral healing and the regenerative powers of nature.” Beyond its collection of treatment rooms, the spa features a nail salon and a Thermal & Relaxation Suite, complete with a sauna, steam room, sensory showers and sound beds. Guests will also have access to the Forte Vita Bar, designed for “results-driven express treatments,” and an all-day fitness center.
Leading The Carlton is Francesco Roccato, managing director of Rocco Forte Hotels’ Northern Italy Area.
