Although not scheduled to officially launch until March 2026, Marriott International’s The Lake Como EDITION has opened in preview, marking the brand’s 21st global destination.
Developed by EDITION, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio, in collaboration with Omnam Investment Group and Bain Capital, the new property ushers in “a radical departure from traditional Lake Como hospitality,” merging contemporary design, world-class dining and groundbreaking wellness experiences.
Senior Vice President and Global Brand Leader, EDITION, George Fleck, described the launch as “a new era in the EDITION story”.
“The Lake Como EDITION represents the next frontier for the brand, setting a new benchmark for contemporary luxury defined by individuality, sophistication, and a strong sense of place,” he said.
Situated in Cadenabbia on Lake Como’s western coast, the property breathes new life into an 1830-built hotel, retaining its classic façade while unveiling interiors by design firm Neri&Hu and architects De.Tales.
Inside, a five-metre-high ceiling crowns the palatial Lobby Bar, while hand-painted landscapes by Italian artist Costanza Alvarez De Castro evoke the romance of Como’s vistas.
The hotel’s 148 rooms, including 25 suites and two penthouses, feature walnut furnishings, Calacatta marble details, and restored French balconies overlooking the lake.
Renowned three-Michelin-star chef Mauro Colagreco brings his “nature-first philosophy” to four distinct dining venues – his first venture in Italy.
Wellness takes center stage at The Longevity SPA, the second of its kind in Italy, offering “groundbreaking biohacking approaches for living a longer, healthier life.”
General Manager Anton Moore calls the property “a new chapter for this iconic destination, bridging the majesty of its historic setting with the vibrancy of current culture.”
