Azamara Cruises has announced an extended return to Australia and New Zealand for the 2027/2028 season, arriving earlier and staying longer than ever before.

The boutique cruise line will offer 23 itineraries, reinforcing what it describes as a “genuine commitment to this region.”

Azamara Pursuit will make its way into Asia via Hong Kong in August 2027 and continue sailing through April 2028. The season will feature new Australian destinations, including Fraser Island (K’gari) and Gladstone, as well as a two-night stay in Hobart over New Year’s Eve (30–31 December), allowing guests to celebrate Tasmania’s Tasting Australia and the iconic Sydney to Hobart festivities. The cruise line will also return to Brisbane and offer a round-trip New Zealand journey designed to deliver “more depth and discovery than ever before.”

Victoria Chigwidden, Director of Sales for Australia and New Zealand, said the announcement underscores Azamara’s growing presence in the region.

“This is fantastic news for our Australian and New Zealand travellers, and for our valued trade partners who have helped drive such strong demand for immersive, small-ship cruising,” she said. “The extended 2027/2028 season — including new ports, longer stays, and more local sailings — reflects our genuine commitment to this region. We’re delighted to welcome Azamara Pursuit back for an extended season and look forward to seeing Azamara Onward join her in early 2028.”

Globally, Azamara is unveiling its highly anticipated Winter 2027/2028 itineraries, featuring 87 cruises across its four-ship fleet from October 16, 2027, to April 28, 2028. With more than 150 late nights and 60 overnights, the line continues its dedication to Destination Immersion experiences, allowing travellers to “savour destinations after the crowds have gone.”
