With more than 25 years in the cruise industry already under her belt, Carol Cabezas is embarking on a new chapter as she joins Silversea as Senior Vice President of Global Sales.
Effective October 14, she will lead trade and consumer sales, call centres and e-commerce, reporting directly to Silversea President Bert Hernandez.
It represents a return to familiar territory at Royal Caribbean Group, Silversea’s parent company, where Cabezas previously held senior leadership roles across sales, finance, revenue management and investor relations. She also oversaw Azamara in the role of President for two years, during its sale to Sycamore Partners in 2021, playing a key role in guiding the brand’s transition to independence. In May 2022, Cabezas welcomed the addition of Azamara’s fourth ship to the fleet, Azamara Onward.
“Throughout her career, Carol has led commercial teams that have driven meaningful business impact, including sales programs that further strengthened trade relationships and supported direct sales growth.” Hernandez said in an internal memo to staff, sourced by LATTE.
“[Cabezas] has also spearheaded the development of business opportunities with national consortia and key strategic trade partners, supported national promotional campaigns and trade compensation, led business analysis, strategy and financial planning, and implemented automation tools for trade and field sales,” he added.
Cabezas’s new role will see her manage a global team, including Joe Leon (Americas), Andy Nuessel (EMEA), and Adam Radwanski (Asia Pacific). She will also oversee Alessandro Casellato and his e-commerce team, Tom Burke (consumer sales), and Teresa Ignacio (guest services).
