The launch of Aranui Cruises‘ 2027 program marks the first time the French Polynesian cruise line will operate two passenger-freighter vessels simultaneously.
The year will see the newly built Aranoa join Aranui 5, expanding the company’s reach across all five of French Polynesia’s archipelagos.
“In 2027, we will operate two ships for the first time, which is a doubling of our operation in French Polynesia and represents a significant and exciting chapter for Aranui,” Aranui Cruises’ Australia and New Zealand Representative Laurent Wong said.
Scheduled to launch on 6 March 2027, Aranoa will embark on a 13-day inaugural voyage to the remote Austral Islands, including a rare visit to Rapa Iti. The 198-passenger vessel will offer 18 cruises in its maiden year, many of which focus on sustainable cargo and tourism operations to the southern Australs.

“With Aranoa’s arrival, we are thrilled to be able to spend more time in the Austral Islands, a truly untouched and pristine part of the world that is home to its own unique culture, beautiful nature, interesting history, and the most happy, welcoming people,” Wong said. “It’s a privilege to be granted access to Rapa – currently Aranui is the only local cruise line allowed regular access.”
Aranui’s commitment to sustainability and authentic experiences remains central. “We are excited about working with the Austral Islands to slowly and responsibly introduce tourism to these remote island communities while allowing a small number of guests to discover their vibrant landscapes and rich culture,” he added.
Beyond the Australs, Aranoa will also offer non-cargo cruises, including a five-day Tuamotus itinerary and two 12-day voyages to Pitcairn and the Gambiers, from A$10,258 per person. A December sailing will attend the Marquesas Arts Festival, offering three nights on Hiva Oa.
Meanwhile, the 230-guest Aranui 5 will continue its classic 13-day voyages to the Marquesas Islands, with 20 departures scheduled.
Early bird discounts are available on both vessels for bookings made before December 31, 2025, with up to 20% off select Aranoa sailings.
