Faena New York has officially opened its doors in West Chelsea, two decades after the brand’s debut in Buenos Aires and 10 years since the addition of Faena Hotel Miami Beach.

“New York City has historically been the centre of innovation, creativity, and pushing boundaries,” said Founder Alan Faena. “Faena embraces and amplifies that spirit, offering a touch of magic that honours and contributes to the vibrant legacy of New York.”

Located at 500 West 18th Street, overlooking the High Line, the third hotel in the portfolio features 120 guest rooms and suites.

Conceived by the Faena Design Team in collaboration with Peter Mikic, Faena New York is housed within a striking building designed by Bjarke Ingels Group. Every aspect of the hotel reflects Faena’s philosophy of merging “art, design, dining, wellness, and performance”.

Visitors begin their experience in The Cathedral, where Diego Gravinese’s dramatic mural The Sefirotic Journey unfolds across the lobby walls.

The property’s culinary anchor, La Boca, is helmed by world-renowned chef Francis Mallmann and pays tribute to the iconic neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, serving up Mallmann’s “signature Patagonian fire-cooking techniques”.

The Living Room serves as “the social heart” of Faena New York, transitioning from a relaxed vibe in the daytime to a more glamorous evening feel. Highlights include two Deco-style bars, a vast terrace and glass murals by Juan Gatti. A gallery connecting El Secreto and La Cava features a Keith Haring original titled Montreaux’s Jazz Festival.

With a mission to bring art into “the heart of community life”, Faena Art will activate the public-facing Plaza with interactive programming and site-specific commissions that are free for the public to enjoy.

The Tierra Santa Healing House will open later this year, with the Faena Theatre to follow in northern hemisphere spring 2026.

The launch follows the 2021 signing of a strategic partnership deal between Faena and hospitality giant Accor. The global joint venture was designed to expand the Faena luxury lifestyle brand to key destinations worldwide, with the development of “Faena Districts” part of the plan.
