Belmond‘s Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire, UK will undergo an extensive redevelopment that will see the iconic property temporarily close from January 2026, with a grand reopening slated for summer 2027.
The upcoming transformation promises to enhance every element of the guest experience while remaining rooted in the hotel’s celebrated legacy.
Founded in 1984 by celebrated chef Raymond Blanc OBE, the manor house, which became part of the Belmond portfolio in 2014, has long been seen as a symbol of culinary excellence and British hospitality.
The project marks the start of a new chapter for Le Manoir. Blanc will now step into the role of Lifetime Ambassador, with his vision to continue to shape the hotel’s future – a transition he described as the evolution of a lifelong dream.

“Le Manoir has been the canvas of my life’s work, a sanctuary where passion, excellence, and beauty have come to life every single day for over four decades,” he said.
“The redevelopment will allow Le Manoir to evolve for the future, to meet the needs of the modern guest while staying true to its soul and values. It is not simply a renovation, but a reinvestment in sustainability, in creativity, and in the spirit of excellence that has defined us.”
Renowned for its pioneering approach to “garden gastronomy,” Le Manoir has earned two Michelin stars every year since its inception. Over the decades, it has launched the careers of countless hospitality professionals including Marco Pierre White, Michael Caines, and Ollie Dabbous.
Belmond is approaching the redevelopment of Le Manoir as part of its broader commitment to cultural preservation. The project aligns with recent Belmond restorations in Florence, Portofino, and the Riviera Maya.
Ahead of the temporary closure, guests are encouraged to visit for “a season of legendary experiences” and celebrate the legacy of one of Britain’s most iconic hotels.
